Potential “Commercial” Building Proposed For South Park Street

Update 6/2/16: No new information to bring you, property is still under contract.

Carrollton Board of Appeals will conduct a public hearing on April 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the Public Safety Annex, 115 W. Center Street (around the corner from Carrollton City Hall). This particular public hearing is for a variance request from Barnhart Commercial Development and WGSC, L.L.C. The proposed variance is basically a reconfiguration of the land area. Over the last few weeks a possible “commercial” lead had surfaced for the area around South Park Health and Wellness Center, which originally was West Georgia Shopping Center. At this time we are not comfortable in releasing any further details about the name of the possible “commercial” building. Once this particular variance is approved by the Board of Appeals we will move forward with bringing you additional information on who would occupy the 3,769 square foot space. The “commercial” space is located directly between Four Seasons Car Wash and Wendy’s in a long vacant lot. As you can see from the drawing provided by Carrollton City Planner Lynne Miller, there is room for a possible drive-thru exit along with a regular entrance which is under the variance request. This request would help separate the Wendy’s lot and this particular commercial development. We are looking forward to sharing any additional information we receive.
