Tickets are now on sale for Savannah Sipping Society, this year’s production by The Power of the Purse, a women’s giving circle sponsored by the Community Foundation of West Georgia.

The play features four strong, unique Southern women in a laugh-a-minute comedy. The women are Randa, a perfectionist and workaholic struggling to cope with a surprise career derailment; Dot, still reeling from her husband’s recent demise; Marlafaye, a good ol’ Texas gal; and Jinx, a spunky ball of fire.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on August 18, 19 and 20 and at 2:30 p.m. on August 21 at the University of West Georgia’s Townsend Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online at townsendcenter.org, by phone at 678-839-4722 or in person at the Townsend Center during office hours (Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

All proceeds benefit Power of the Purse and the organization’s annual grants issued in the community.
