G Town Wings and Teriyaki Opens on Maple Street

Carrollton’s newest wing destination recently opened near the University of West Georgia on Maple Street. G Town Wings and Teriyaki, located at 1302 Maple Street, specializes in wings, but also offers fish, shrimp, and other food items.

“We have everything from traditional teriyaki plates to delicious hot wings, burgers, gyros, and philly sandwiches,” says Sam Lin, owner.

Lin says he grew up in a small Georgia town where his parents owned a restaurant. He learned the ins and outs of the restaurant business from a young age.

“This is something I grew up doing since I was a small child,” says Lin. “When we would leave school every day, my friends would go play ball or party, but we would go work in our restaurant. Now that I have my own restaurant, it’s something I take great pride in, and really enjoy.”

He says the “G” in G Town stands for “Georgia.”

“People in Georgia love good food, and good hospitality,” says Lin. “That’s really what I want them to think of when they think about our restaurant. I’m a firm believer in having great customer service.”

Lin says G Town’s wings are all tossed in homemade, Japanese-style teriyaki sauce that is made over a lengthy, 8-hour process.

“All of our sauces are homemade,” says Lin. “We have lots of other flavors to choose from like hot, honey garlic pepper, Cajun, honey mustard, and barbeque.”

Lin says his wings are all fresh, and never frozen.

“When you use wings that haven’t been frozen, it really enhances the flavor and quality,” says Lin. “Ours are never frozen. We also only use the medium-sized wings because they often shrink down when you cook them. Once they are cooked, they are the perfect size. We cook them until they have a nice, crispy outside, but they are still juicy on the inside.”

G Town’s atmosphere is inviting and family-friendly for people of all ages.

“We’re located right next to the college, but we’re not a place for people to come party,” says Lin. “We want anyone to be able to come watch the game here and enjoy our food.”

The restaurant has three large, flat-screen televisions inside their expansive dining area.

“We do take-out orders, but this is also a place where you can come in, sit down, and enjoy a meal,” says Lin. “We also have a large outside seating area for you to sit outside when the weather is nice.”

“We also want people to ask about our secret menu items of the week,” says Lin. “Each week, we will have a different secret menu item that we come up with.”

Lin says he is happy to be serving the customers of the west Georgia area, and hopes to soon become a go-to destination for local wing enthusiasts.

“Our service is good, and our food is fresh,” says Lin. “We are very happy to be open in Carrollton. We offer fast service with a smile, at very affordable prices.”
