WES Provides Students with New Virtual Reality Experiences

(Carrollton, Ga. – March 21, 2017) Students at Whitesburg Elementary are exploring the world through virtual reality technology.

The Google Expeditions App is a revolutionary application, which has recently been released. The App allows teachers and students to experience virtual field trips to some of the most exciting places on Earth.

At Whitesburg Elementary, students can be taken to exotic locations such as the Underwater Caribbean, Mount Rushmore, The Great Wall of China, and many more thrilling locations. Google’s Expeditions App comes with more than 200 field trips for students to enjoy. Teachers are using this advanced technology to provide students with a premier learning experience.

“ We are very excited to be able to provide the students of Whitesburg with active, immersive virtual reality experiences. The use of these devices permits our students to explore the world and gain a deeper understanding of the content material. Virtual reality truly allows us to put the world at their fingertips. ” said Dr. Ogando, Whitesburg Elementary Principal.

This new technology will allow the students to experience and interact with content in a way that has never before been seen in Carroll County. The Google Expeditions App is one more addition to the programs offered at Whitesburg Elementary as they move forward with their STEM initiative.
