Peace, Love and Hot Wings, Jefferson’s Now Open

The wait is over for Carrollton’s newest sports restaurant. Jefferson’s is Now Open at 342 Maple Street. It features fresh, never frozen, hand-pattied hamburgers, fresh jumbo chicken wings, and fresh oysters from the Gulf of Mexico. Lauren Grisham, manager and daughter of owner Glynn Grisham, says, “We are so excited to finally open a Jefferson’s here in our home town. We have three Jefferson’s restaurants in Alabama, and we are so glad to now share it with our friends here in Carrollton.”

The original Jefferson’s Restaurant opened in Jacksonville, Alabama, in 1991 when founder Jefferson (Jeff) Webb graduated from Jacksonville State University. He thought the town desperately needed a local hangout, so he sold his treasured baseball card collection for the financing, opened the restaurant, and was an immediate hit. People loved the huge juicy burgers, fresh gulf oysters, and world-famous, delicious hot wings. Since then Jefferson’s has expanded its menu and developed a dedicated, cult-like following as the franchise has grown to 22 locations throughout the southeast and Midwest.

“Jefferson’s is a family-friendly sports restaurant,” says Lauren. “We have something for everyone, including the kids. We are probably best known for our wings–fresh, never frozen, jumbo wings tossed in 19 different sauces. Everyone loves our oysters, fresh from the Gulf of Mexico, served raw and baked in a variety of ways.” Owner Glynn Grisham also notes, “We proudly display the tag from the oyster bag at the entrance to the restaurant so that as soon as you walk in, you know the date your oysters were harvested from the gulf.”

Jefferson’s in Carrollton has 17 TVs to show all current sporting events both inside the restaurant and outside on the big porch facing Maple Street. Sports memorabilia covers the walls. It is a place for friends and family to gather and enjoy good food in a fun location. The restaurant chain maintains its mantra of “Peace, Love, and Hot Wings” by creating a welcoming casual atmosphere with good food and fast, friendly service.
