The Central High School Softball Team started on the right foot this season. The ladies are 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the region. Sophomore Shirley Sharp and freshman Maggie Harris are starting in the circle this year.

The Lady Lions have a great range of young talent with lots of experience led by seniors Lucy Grace McKenzie and Abbey Cook. Returning All-State players, Abbey Cook and Faith Bennett, are looking to have another outstanding year with the Lions. The girls know they have to play a different style of game this year after losing 4A Player of the Year, Emily Williams. The Lions are scoring and scoring big. They know in order to compete and stay in the game; big scores have to be part of the plan. The ladies are achieving this goal, one game at a time.

Coach David McKenna believes all the coaches are excited to work with this group of girls. Coach McKenna said, “These ladies are coachable, have tons of energy, and are just plain fun to watch play.” Coach McKenna works with Assistant Coaches Makenzie Spayde, Nathan Urquhart, and Lay Coach Ken Minick.
