New Restaurant to Open in Former Huddle House Location

    UPDATE:

A new restaurant will soon be open in the former Huddle House on Highway 27 in Carrollton. Renovations are under way for Lee’s Kitchen, which is set to open in early September.

Lee’s Kitchen is a family-owned restaurant formerly known as Lee’s Chinese. Owner Guotai Li is moving the restaurant from their old location on Brumbelow Road. His daughter, Annie, said the family is excited to begin serving customers in their new location.

“We will be serving hibachi and stir fry, along with other menu items,” she said. “People who have visited our old restaurant love our fried rice. They say it’s the best in town.”

Goutai began learning to be a chef at the age of 10, and is proud to serve recipes that have been passed down for generations.

“My father has been a cook all his life, and it’s something he really loves,” said Annie. “His family taught him how to cook at a very early age, and he has passed down that knowledge to us.”

Huddle House operated in the location since its construction in 1972, until the restaurant closed for good on April 28, 2017, as the lessees retired. This is the second restaurant to open in the space in its 45 years in Carrollton.

Annie said the restaurant is very close to being finished.  She continued, “We hope to be open in early September, and we want to invite everyone to stop by.”
