Tourism Brought $157M to Carroll Last Year

From the just-released Economic Impact of Travel in GA study:

Visitors spent $157 million in Carroll County last year, nearly 4% more than the previous year. Tourism also created and/or supported 1350 jobs here in 2016, a 3 1/2 % increase over 2015. All that visitor spending generated almost $11 million in state and local taxes. That’s effectively $273 of tax relief per Carroll household thanks to tourism!

Tourism is one of the most collaborative of industries, teaming up lodging, food service, attractions, transportation, government, service and retail, recreation and arts-based, media and destination marketing entities (just to name a few) to bring people and their spending into our local economy, where everyone sees the benefit. Community-wide efforts producing community-wide benefits — that’s not just hospitable, it’s Altogether Rewarding!

Thank you for your part in our tourism efforts. These exciting numbers wouldn’t be possible without you.
