The City of Temple will soon be repairing a section of sidewalk on Otis Street near Temple Elementary School. City Manager Bill Osborne said the City plans to repair 600 square feet of sidewalk space along the street.

“Because of erosion, the sidewalk had been rendered not safe for use,” said Osborne. “We had to mark it off, but our school kids need to have access to it, so we made the decision to replace that section of sidewalk.”

The project is set to begin on October 27.

Osborne said the City also recently met with the state and has been awarded a matching grant for road repairs in Temple. The repairs will focus on Sage Street in downtown Temple, as well as a small section on Rocking D Road near Villa Rosa.
