Something magical is coming to downtown Carrollton this winter: a Santa experience unlike any other.
Anna Gordon Portraits will be hosting a one-of-a-kind Christmas photography session for local families. Anna says her photography experience will yield unforgettable photos and lasting memories for families this holiday season without all the stress of a typical Christmas photo session.
“No elves rushing you through the lines this year,” says Anna. “Your children will get to spend 30 minutes of one-on-one time with Santa in a stress-free, quiet, private, and kid-driven environment. Read A Christmas Story with Santa, share some cookies, sing a song, enjoy some hot chocolate—or a mug of gluhwein for the adults—talk about your Christmas wish list, and not only will we capture photos of the kids with Santa, but we’ll also take some gorgeous family portraits as well as photos of just the children.”
Anna says she wants to offer a photography experience that captures the joyful spirit of Christmas instead of rushing parents and children into what will undoubtedly be a snapshot of a child frightened by sitting on a stranger’s lap.
“If your little ones are not ready to see Santa when you first arrive, they’ll have plenty of time to warm up to him and feel comfortable—no screaming babies here. No rush, only comfort and fun and a whole lot of magic.”
Registration will open on October 25 for Anna Gordon Portraits’ Christmas photo session at www.carrolltonsantaexperience.com.
The mother of three, Anna is all too familiar with the difficulties of trying to get the perfect Christmas photo.
“We’ve been dreaming up a “different” Santa experience for years, and we’re excited to be bringing it to life this winter,” says Anna. “As parents to three little boys, we wanted to create an experience that would be stress-free and kid-driven, and result in gorgeous photos. The experience that we’ve crafted is exactly what we wanted as parents, and we’re so excited to bring Christmas magic to downtown Carrollton.”
Anna and her husband, Rick, moved to Carrollton from Seattle three years ago to open her photography business.
“I absolutely love how welcoming Carrollton has been, and it’s been so exciting to grow our photography business here and to feel so supported by the local community,” says Anna.
Before Anna was snapping photos in her studio, she was an Army officer and a Blackhawk helicopter pilot who graduated from West Point with a degree in physics/nuclear engineering and a Master’s in aeronautics.
After flying helicopters for seven years, she left her career as a pilot to pursue her dream job of being a photographer.
“I specialize in portrait photography here in the studio,” says Anna. “I shoot a wide variety of different kinds of photos, including branding/headshots, families, seniors, boudoir, and lots more. My husband and I also teach and mentor hundreds of photographers each year. We originally opened a studio three years ago on Newnan Road, and we moved to the Hudson Mill building last year when it was renovated. I’m thankful to do what I love and am most passionate about as my career.”
Anna expects the Christmas photo sessions to fill up quickly and encourages anyone interested to sign up on Wednesday, October 25 beginning at 11:30.
