Home Construction In Progress New Housing Community Planned Behind Kroger

New Housing Community Planned Behind Kroger

Land is being cleared behind Kroger in Carrollton to make way for a new housing community on Cottage Hill Road. Windmill Park is set to be Carrollton’s newest senior living housing community.

“It’s going to be a residential community aimed at empty nesters and seniors,” said John Denney, who owns the community along with Jeff Matthews. “We plan to have a community building with some recreational amenities.”

Denney said the housing units are planned to be single-family homes.

“The first phase of construction will have 61 lots,” said Denney. “Some time after that is completed, we will have a second, smaller phase behind that with about 20 lots for houses that are a little smaller.”

The units are planned to be 1,600 to 1,800 square feet in size, with smaller units being 1,200 square feet.

“They are going to be high-quality units with front porches, high ceilings, and masonry on the front,” said Denney. “We intend for it to be a quality housing development.”

Denney noted that Windmill Park will launch a website sometime in January under the domain windmillpark.net.

“We’re really excited to be moving forward with it,” said Denney. “We’re hoping to have a model and some units completed in the spring.”
